Legacy Giving Initiative

Kick-Off of Legacy Giving Initiative 2/6/2021 – 12/31/2021

To commemorate the 35^th Chapter Anniversary and honor 35 years of MRAC’s service to the community, the “Legacy Giving Initiative” was created as a meaningful financial legacy of funds designated for more scholarships and to make a stronger impact in the community by extending our reach. Our goal is $70K. We invite all sorors, family, and friends of MRAC to pledge an amount of their choosing to be paid over a period of 10 months (February 2021 – December 2021).

On February 22, 1986 21 sorors came together and chartered Marietta-Roswell Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. On our anniversary, we celebrate ‘A Legacy of Service and Sisterhood’ for the last 35 years.

Acts of Service

Since its founding in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has clearly distinguished itself as a public service organization that boldly confronts the challenges of African Americans and, hence, all Americans. Over the past 35 years, MRAC has impacted its service area by providing a wide range of programs addressing education, health, international development, and the strengthening of the African American family. To commemorate 35 years of service, we are asking sorors to participate in a special sponsored service project each month between February and October 2021.

Thank you for participating in the United Way Shoebox Project. We collected 1,100 shoe boxes. Stay tuned for upcoming Acts of Service.

We will celebrate “A Legacy of Service and Sisterhood” during our “35^th Anniversary Virtual Gala”. Be prepared to dress in your After 5 attire for our signature event commemorating our 35 years of Service and Sisterhood.

We will honor our past and inspire our future. Our MC for the evening is our Soror and Comedian J Smiles. We will be entertained with music performances and spoken word and hear from some of our community partners from over the years.
