Business of the Month

The MRAC Economic Development Committee is committed to encouraging and empowering our community to become financially literate and economically self-sufficient.

The January 2023 Business of the Month Boss Kidz Inc. is owned by Soror Vanessa Hardiman.

Our mission is to inspire students that feel disconnected from school and provide them with a creative, hands-on environment designed to teach them a professional skill set centered around the world of business.

Our programs focus on STEM, Finance, Leadership, and Apprenticeships. We offer Winter and Spring mini-courses, career readiness workshops, and an International Summer Camp for kid entrepreneurs ages 8-18.

Our middle school program is for ages 8-14 and works directly with schools and business professionals to develop local chapters that are run by students and meant to inspire creativity amongst members. Chapters are designed to have at least two advisors, a teacher, and a business professional from the community. Every chapter includes a simple power structure with a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer each position is elected by chapter members and is meant to work together to complete chapter objectives and goals.

Chapter members determine a product or service they can sell, and 90% of the profits earned are distributed to the kids.  The kids are then given a certificate to be used at participating financial institutions to open up checking savings or investment accounts.  The remaining portion of the profits goes to the school and a community-based organization selected by the students.

We are seeking sponsors, board members, and advisors in Education Business or a related field.
