Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been celebrating May Week for over 100 years. It is a national program that was created to emphasize the importance of higher education for the community, specifically black women. May Week is also a time to recognize and acknowledge inspiring women in our communities. This event will encompass powerful narratives by sheros in Business, Entrepreneurship, Healthcare, and Local Government.
When you register, please tell us about a woman whose story has inspired you or who enacted change that inspired you in 500 words or less. With your permission, your story may be selected to share during our event and you may be entered for a chance to win a $100 gift card!

Cynthia Jones Parks, President/CEO, Jones Worley
and Dr. Judi-Lee Webb, Owner, Psychological Solutions of Atlanta

Cynthia Jones Parks President/CEO
Ms. Parks is president and CEO of Jones Worley, an Atlanta-based marketing communications firm she founded in 1990. She has a national reputation for outstanding work in marketing, branding, way-finding, signage design and creative solutions. She’s carved a niche in the transportation industry where her clients include more than 50 transportation authorities from California to Florida.

Dr. Judi-Lee Webb
Dr. Webb is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Atlanta, GA. She has been the owner of Psychological Solutions of Atlanta since 2003, where she conducts therapy with adolescents, adults, couples and families and provides trainings, consultation, and supervision for mental health professionals and workshops for community organizations, schools and universities.

Moderator
Brunessa Drayton, is a former sales professional, leader and advocate. Raised in a military family, she takes pride in a strong work ethic and brings a unique perspective deeply rooted in her Afro-Latina heritage. This combination makes her a passionate champion to work on behalf of those who have historically been underserved and underrepresented. Currently, she serves as the Chief Assistant to the Chair of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

Congresswoman Lucy McBath, The most important title that Congresswoman Lucy McBath will ever hold is “mom” – Lucy is the mother of Jordan Davis. In 2012, Jordan was senselessly shot and killed at a gas station in Jacksonville, Florida by a man objecting to the music Jordan was playing in his car. Lucy left her 30-year long career working for Delta Airlines for her second career focused on reform to make our communities safer for every single American. Bebe Ross Coker, member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., for 65 years has claimed Wilmington, Delaware as her home since 1960. Mrs. Coker started her career in public service as a social worker in California, Department of Public Welfare. Her dedicated advocacy for welfare recipients, public education and the civil rights of minority persons began in the early sixties and continues to the present day. She remains a fierce advocate for low-income children of color. Coker is also a published author and poet and champions cultural appreciation, collaborating with arts and community groups throughout Delaware. Read more →

Fallon McClure, is the Organizing and Elections Director for the Georgia Working Families Party & the Executive Director of Georgia Alliance for Social Justice – she oversees the organizing and electoral work across the state. Given her passion and commitment to helping others, Fallon volunteers with several local organizations focusing on organizing and community work around voting rights and criminal justice reform. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts in History from Georgia State University and a Juris Doctorate from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Read more →
